Inside this gate slat box are 16 ALU 40 slats cut to 62 in., the infill specified for the Alu 40 6×6 ft. DIY pedestrian gate kit. These 6×6 aluminum gate slats mount horizontally with a minimum 3/8 in. gap, creating a clean line of boards across a wider walk gate while keeping some airflow.
A 6 ft wide gate gives more room for equipment, bikes and bins. Because the slats arrive pre-cut, every board is the same length and ready for the matching DIY frame, with no cutting of full-length fence stock.

The 4 in. ALU 40 face has a stronger presence than narrow slats, and the 3/8 in. gap keeps the gate from feeling heavy. It pairs naturally with ALU 40 horizontal fence runs, so gate and fence share the same line.
For a 4 ft x 6 ft gate, use the ALU 40 gate slat box, 39 in.. For full privacy with no gap on a 6 ft gate, the ALU 60 T&G gate slat box, 62 in. interlocks edge to edge. Measure your opening and confirm your frame size before ordering.
The Alu 40 6×6 ft. DIY pedestrian gate kit (GAP 3/8 in.) includes this slat box with the 6' x 6' DIY-only gate frame kit and a 7/8 plug. To assemble your own package, start with a 6' x 6' DIY gate frame kit and add a post option that suits your wall or footing.

(Gate Slat Box) ALU 40 Slat – 16pcs (62in) is made from aluminum 6063-t6, finished with AAMA 2604 Super-Durable Powder Coating in black, bronze.
6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.

The boxed DIY pedestrian gate kits and the parts sold for them: 2×2 in. hinge posts and L-side posts for wall installation, and the gate slat boxes in ALU 40 and ALU 60 T&G.
Measure the opening between the two walls (these posts are for wall installation).
Choose the kit size (4×6 or 6×6 ft) and the slat style (ALU 40 with a gap, or ALU 60 T&G with no gap).
Choose the color offered for the kit.
Add hinge post / L-side post sets and slat boxes only if you are building or replacing parts.
