Pre-cut slats mean every board arrives at the same length, ready for a 4 ft wide DIY gate frame. It is a straightforward way to build a gate that matches an ALU 40 horizontal fence, or to refresh the infill on an existing frame of the same size.

The wider face gives fewer horizontal lines than narrow slats, and the 3/8 in. minimum spacing keeps the gate from looking like a solid wall. It is a popular match for horizontal aluminum fences around patios, side yards and front entries.
Choose by frame width. For a 6 ft x 6 ft gate, use the ALU 40 gate slat box, 16 pcs, 62 in.. If you want full privacy instead of a gap, the ALU 60 T&G gate slat box, 39 in. interlocks with no gap. Confirm your opening width and frame size before ordering, and confirm with our team if you are fitting a frame not listed here.
The Alu 40 4×6 ft. DIY pedestrian gate kit (GAP 3/8 in.) combines this box with the DIY-only 4' x 6' gate frame kit and a 7/8 plug. To build it piece by piece, start with the 4' x 6' DIY gate frame kit, then choose a post option for a wall or concrete-footing install.

(Gate Slat Box) ALU 40 Slat – 16pcs (39in) is made from aluminum 6063-t6, finished with AAMA 2604 Super-Durable Powder Coating in black, bronze, white.
6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.

The boxed DIY pedestrian gate kits and the parts sold for them: 2×2 in. hinge posts and L-side posts for wall installation, and the gate slat boxes in ALU 40 and ALU 60 T&G.
Measure the opening between the two walls (these posts are for wall installation).
Choose the kit size (4×6 or 6×6 ft) and the slat style (ALU 40 with a gap, or ALU 60 T&G with no gap).
