This gate slat box contains 11 ALU 60 T&G slats cut to 62 in. It is the infill specified for 6 ft x 6 ft DIY pedestrian gate kits from Aluglobus Aluminum Systems. These 6×6 tongue and groove gate slats interlock edge to edge, closing the gate into one continuous privacy panel with no gap between boards.
A 6 ft wide walk gate is a common choice for moving mowers, wheelbarrows and bins through a side yard. Using slats already cut to 62 in. keeps every board the same length and saves you from trimming full-length fence stock on site.

If you want a slatted look with light and airflow between boards, the ALU 40 gate slat box, 62 in. uses 4 in. slats with a minimum 3/8 in. gap. 6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.
