This black aluminum top rail 6.5 ft long is a single piece that caps the top of an infill panel, closing off the stack and giving the fence a straight, finished edge. The 6.5 ft length fills the gap between the standard 6 ft and 8 ft rails, which is useful when your post spacing or gate frame falls between the two.

Measure the clear width between posts or frame members, then choose the closest rail length that avoids waste. The top edge of a fence is its most exposed surface, facing direct sun, rain and debris every day. A powder-coated 6063-T6 aluminum rail keeps its color there without the swelling or splitting of a wood cap, and black ties in with black posts, caps and gate frames for a crisp outline.
Count one rail per section or gate leaf, and add a spare if rails will be stored on site before installation. If your openings vary, list each width first: some may suit this 6.5 ft rail and others the 6 ft or 8 ft length. 6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.
