Slats and rails
An 8 ft aluminum top rail, 0.059 THK, that caps Alu 60 T&G, Alu Plexi or vinyl infill. Sold singly from box stock in Black, Bronze or White.
$22.61
This aluminum fence top rail 8 ft long caps the upper edge of an infill panel, giving the section a straight, finished line and covering the top of the stack. It is supplied as a single piece from box stock, so you can buy exactly the number of rails your run needs or replace one that was damaged.
The price list names three uses for this rail:
It is not listed for the Alu 40 slat, so check with our team before using it on another profile. Choose the same color as your slats and posts for a uniform section.
Match the rail to your section width. For 8 ft sections this is the direct fit; shorter openings can use the 6.5 ft black top rail or the 6 ft rail, and long custom runs can start from the 18 ft rail. If you plan to cut a rail, measure between posts carefully and confirm bracket positions first.
When you are ordering rails for several sections, count one rail per section and add a spare if the site is busy or the rails will be stored before install. Ordering all rails in one batch also keeps the color consistent along the fence line.
The top edge of a fence takes the most sun and rain. A 6063-T6 aluminum rail with super-durable powder coating will not rot, swell or split like a wood cap, and it keeps the same color as the rest of the system. On a solid T&G panel the top edge is the line people notice first, so a rail that matches the slats and posts gives the whole section a tidy, deliberate finish. Browse the aluminum fence category for matching slats, posts and accessories.
Material & finish
(From Box) Top Rail 0.059 THK – 8 ft. is made from aluminum 6063-t6, finished with AAMA 2604 Super-Durable Powder Coating in black, bronze, white.
6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.

Complete the system
Fence parts built around the 2.75 in. 2-way aluminum post: posts and boxed post kits, post spacers, caps and base plates, plus the ALU 40 and ALU 60 T&G slats and top rails used with them.
Measure the fence run and decide the post spacing (8 ft sections for the kits).
Pick the slat: ALU 40 with a 1/2 in. gap or ALU 60 T&G.
Choose the spacer size that sets the gap you want.
Choose how posts are installed: in concrete or on a base plate (anchors sold separately).
Add caps, top rails and screws, then confirm the color for every part.
