An open post top lets in rain, leaves and insects and makes a finished fence or gate look incomplete. The 3" Flat Press Cap from Aluglobus Aluminum Systems is a 3 inch flat aluminum post cap that closes the top of a 3 in. square post with a flat, low-profile lid rather than a pointed or ball-top finial.
It is made from 6063-T6 aluminum with AAMA 2604 super-durable powder coating in black, the same finish standard used on the square posts in our range, so the cap blends with the post instead of standing out as a separate fitting.
Post caps are sized to the outside of the post, and a few fractions of an inch decide whether a press cap seats properly. The 3" cap is the nominal match for the 3×3 in. square posts in our range, such as the 3×3 in. x 6ft. square post (.090 Thk) and the 3×3 in. x 8 ft. HD square post. If you are capping existing posts from another supplier, measure the outside width with a tape or caliper first, and confirm the fit with our team if the reading is not a clean 3 in.

A flat top keeps the post line clean and horizontal, which suits modern slat fences and gates where the focus is on straight lines rather than ornament. It also keeps the top of a gate post tidy next to hinges and latches.
As a press cap, it is designed to push onto the post top. Clean the top of the post before fitting and follow the included instructions. Count one cap per post, including gate and end posts, and add a spare or two for longer runs.

6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.

Square aluminum posts (2×2, 3×3, 3.15 and 4×4 in.) with C-channel kits, C-channel and channel-cover spacers, press caps and base plates, as used on the Aluglobus fence kits and gates.
Choose the post size and wall thickness for the job (light duty or HD).
Match the cap to the post size (2, 3, 3.15 or 4 in.).
Add C-channel kits for each post face that holds slats, and the spacers that set the gap.
Decide between posts set in concrete and base plates (anchors sold separately).
