Horizontal slat fences and gates need something at each end to hold the slats straight and hide the cut ends. The C-Channel Kit 8 ft. from Aluglobus Aluminum Systems is an 8 ft aluminum c-channel kit that does that job: an 8 ft. C-channel with a matching cover and cap, in black powder-coated 6063-T6 aluminum.
The C-channel provides the open slot that receives the slat ends, keeping each slat aligned in the run. The cover closes the face of the channel for a clean finished edge, and the cap closes the top. Because all three parts come in the same black AAMA 2604 finish, the channel blends with black posts and frames instead of showing as a separate trim piece.
Channel cover spacers are listed as optional accessories for the channel cover and are sold separately, in sizes including 3/8 in. and 1/2 in., plus 3/4 in., 1 in., 2 in. and 4 in.

6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.
